Yarn Dyeing machines

Hank yarn dyeing has been done traditionally for a very long time in many parts of the world. But now is the right time for chemical processors to look for cutting-edge techniques for dying hank yarn while keeping the following in mind.

Yarn dyeing can be done by the following three methods. 

(i) Traditional 
(ii) Non-mechanised
(iii) Mechanised (partially or completely)


Among the mechanised method of dyeing the following machines are used successfully for dyeing hank yarns.
(a) Open beck type
(b) Cabinet type
(c) Package dyeing


(b) Automated beck-type machine

The Hussong machine shown in the Figure below is one of the earliest automated hank yarn machines. 

As was previously said, it mainly comprises a frame with poles on which the hanks are suspended and which, when loaded, are lowered into a daily vessel holding the dye fluid. 

A barrier separates the yarn from the impellor, which is employed to circulate the alcohol. 

The most yarn container is below the hung hanks of yarn and contains a perforated false bottom that enables the dye liquor to flow into it because the impellor revolves. 

The holes within the false bottom are positioned specified there are more holes at the tip farthest from the impellor than there are almost about it to disperse the flow of dye liquor uniformly. 

The pipe and yarn are kept apart by the bogus bottom. The impeller alternately rotates in opposite directions to produce circulation from either below or above. 

The machine for dyeing Hussong hanks the false bottom upward and back into the impeller compartment over the top or in the reverse direction. 

The packing density of the yarn should be constant since the working mechanism in this case is one during which dye fluid travels through a mass of yarn. 

This can be accomplished by ensuring the yarn is packed evenly on the poles. it's customary to load the hanks slightly more densely towards the ends of the poles than within the middle since the flow of the liquor will tend to follow the trail of effort. 

This can be only necessary because the machine's sides tend to possess stronger circulation. the power and knowledge of the person loading the machine will help ensure uniform colouring. 

At the bottom of the impellor comparison, there's an adjustable weir that controls the flow volume. 

The flow direction must occasionally be switched during dyeing. Unless the yarn is raised while the flow is upwards, the portions of the thread on the pole won't be adequately intimately in-tuned with the liquor when the flow is within the downward direction, leading to "poorly coloured" portions. 

Since it lifts the hanks off the perforated top of the poles and allows the dye to evenly contact every region of the yarn, the upward orientation is often used for the bulk of the dyeing cycle.

This kind of apparatus has also been widely accustomed to scrub, bleach, and dye cotton hanks.

(C) Cabinet Dyeing machine

Hanks of yarn are dyed using cabinet dyeing equipment. Additionally, all wet treatments like boiling off, bleaching, acidifying, washing, etc. are performed using this equipment. This machine is often used with any style of dye. 

This device is employed to dye high-bulk acrylic yarns, wool, and cotton fabrics. The cabinet contains two or four compartments with two or four hanks each, reckoning on the machine's capacity. 

The liquor is circulated through the hanks employing a special reversible propeller that's housed within the lower portion of the machine's main chamber. 

The V-belt and pulley system accustomed transfer the electrical motor's drive allows for the choice of varied speeds to accommodate the circulation of the liquid for the count and quality of the yarn. 

A specific cycle device with pre-selected times can be used to automatically reverse the flow of liquor. 

A temperature controller that operates automatically The lower portion of the cabinet also has fixtures for heating and distributing the alcohol.

The sampling equipment with a chrome steel valve is installed within the most accessible location, with very simple and secure sampling. This machine has provisions for various hank rod spacings, making it suited to various reeling lengths and yarn varieties.

Models for hydrostatic pressure and static pressure, which may withstand working temperatures of up to 100°C and 108°C, respectively, are both offered.

Depending on the scale of the hank, the M: L ratio is often 1:15 or 1:20. Three sizes of cabinet hank dyeing machines—54, 72, and 90 inches—are available.

The types of cabinet dyeing machines include single-tier and double-tier designs.

For dyeing cotton yarn, single-tier machines with capacities of fifty kg and 75 kg are available. 

Cotton yarn dyeing machines with capacities of 100 kg, 200 kg, and 500 kg are offered.
